Isn't More CO2 good for plants
Since plants need CO2 to grow, wouldn't having more CO2 in the atmosphere be beneficial and grow bigger better plants?
When I was growing up my grandmother told me if I wanted my plants to grow better I should talk to them more. I did not understand why until I started going to school. I learned that people breathe in Oxygen and expel Carbon Dioxide or CO2 and plants take in CO2 to conduct photosynthesis.
If just breathing on plants will add in their growth, then releasing all of that CO2 into our atmosphere from the burning of fossil fuels will create bigger, stronger, healthier plants, right? There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Yes, plants can grow better when taking in extra CO2 but if there is too much CO2 the plants would get saturated reversing any and all benefits they might have received. The plant would then grow less in size and have a difficult time seeding.
We all have to work together and start to aggressively address Global Warming and Energy Independence, NOW.
