Where Do We Go?

With food prices dramatically increasing, oil and gasoline prices at all time highs, coupled with the fact that atmospheric CO2 and Methane levels have significantly increased in 2007, the answer to that question has never been clearer.

Well thought out words delivered in emotional speeches will help, but only to keep awareness of Global Warming and Energy Independence, in the forefront.

The Mission does the one thing that will proactively address Global Warming and Energy Independence; It Takes Action Now.

The route is clear and the talking is over. It is time for action. We have to remember the past, work diligently in the present and take back our future.

Global Warming Energy Independence Mission Lets Lead By Example

The Arctic Icecaps are melting...

Global Warming is melting the arctic Icecaps

Do not worry, because When Life gives you lemons, make Lemonade... What?!

Global warming, which is caused by burning fossil fuels, is melting the Arctic Icecaps. Instead of that being a troublesome issue that should be proactively addressed. The United States and at least 3 other countries are in a mad rush to claim territory in that region for their own country. Why? Because, Geologists estimate that the Arctic holds about 25% of the worlds total oil reserves. This territory has not been accessible in the past because of all of that ice. I have always been taught, that money makes the world go around, but this is a prime example of how the pursuit of money can corrupt and breed short sighted people.

Since the 1970’s the Arctic Icecaps have shrunk by 50% and a decent percentage of that has only happened in the last dew years. The Arctic Icecaps are more important than you may think and apparently the United States Government knew this decades ago because NASA launched a satellite to track the Arctic’s size.

If the Arctic Icecaps continue to melt we lose a huge sun reflector and it might be easier to get to the projected oil reserves but by then that oil may be a non-issue.

Looking at it from a worldwide security aspect and saying nothing about the environment and Global Warming, the melting Icecaps are creating a potentially frightening scenario. The melting Arctic Icecaps and the battle for Oil is expanding the definition of the “Cold War”.

Update:

I originally wrote this short article back in August 2007. Time Magazine wrote a more in-depth article about this subject, in their October 1, 2007 edition. It is an article that you need to read, for two reasons. It will give you a better understanding of the issue and more importantly, you will see how the pursuit of oil is causing contention and strife between countries

It becomes clearer and clearer everyday, why we must start aggressively addressing the causes of Global Warming and United States Energy Independence today and how time and inactivity are ever intensifying the issue.

We all have to work together and start to aggressively address Global Warming and Energy Independence, NOW.
